Study Visit to Georgia: MCC International Relations Students Examine Regional Security and Integration Dynamics

Organized by the MCC-MKI Center for Geopolitics, students of the School of International Relations are spending a week in Georgia as part of a study program focusing on the South Caucasus region. Following a visit to the Embassy of Hungary in Tbilisi, the delegation was hosted by professors of Tbilisi State University, where they took part in insightful academic discussions. Later, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the group was received by Mr. Archil Karaulashvili, Director General for Euro-Atlantic Integration. Throughout the meetings, particular emphasis was placed on the analysis of regional security developments, the activities of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM Georgia), and the prospects of Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration.

Misa Djurkovic Speaks in Vienna on Western Balkans’ EU Future

At a conference in Vienna organized by the Center for European Studies of the Mathias Corvinus Collegium in cooperation with MODUL University, MCC–MKI Director Misa Djurkovic took part in a discussion on the European integration of the Western Balkan countries. The event, part of the Western Balkans First series, gathered senior officials and experts from the region to reflect on the slow progress of enlargement and the future of EU–Balkan relations.

Misa Djurkovic Participates in the Globalism and Democracy Conference in Dubrovnik

Misa Djurkovic, Director of the MCC–MKI Centre for Geopolitics, took part in the international conference Globalism and Democracy, held at the Inter-University Centre in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from September 14 to 19. As co-director of the seminar, he presented a paper entitled “But What if the People Are Stupid? Global Governance, European Elites, and the Fight Against Democracy.”

Miklós Teszary Presents at the ICCEES XI World Congress at UCL SSEES

Miklós Teszary had the privilege of presenting at the International Council for Central and East European Studies (ICCEES) XI World Congress, hosted by University College London (UCL) and its School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES). The congress gathered leading experts from around the world to discuss disruption across Central, Eastern, and South-East Europe, the Baltics, Russia, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. It was a particular honour for him to hear the keynote address by Dame Melinda Simmons, former UK Ambassador to Ukraine.
